I'm invested in Japan. But, I haven't been interested in increasing my investment until they started to seriously clean house. Even the advent of public funds to prop up the stock market, doesn't thrill me. To me, that is a short term, bandaid approach. As long as the powers of corruption or incompetence, is still alive and well, history would repeat itself, and Japan's economy would continue to be negatively effected.

This attack, by the government, on the BOJ, gives me the signal that the government is serious about cleaning up the mess, and that they have the fortitude to do it.

Time will tell, if they are going to carry through with serious reforms. But, at least, it is a good step forward.
