John Wang - thanks for the reply. No feelings were hurt - IBM is
known for being a good manufacturer, and I was surprised at your
statement, thus asked for proof. You are correct that IBM was
not pleased with the Roch. Disk operation - speaking only from
a cost point-of-view - Asia has much cheaper labor. Quality-wise,
it was excellent here.

I agree w/ you on WDC being better than most at designing for
volume production allowing for more variables in components - they
need to, since are not vertically integrated - I think that is
a big advantage of WDC - they can 'turn on a dime' - or at least
more quickly than more vertically integrated disk co's, should
technology change, or costs change, etc.

I own lots of IBM and lots of WDC, so I don't care who buys who! :-)
