As per 7/15/97 10Q:

As of May 31, 1997, there were 18,251,632 shares of the Registrant's Common Stock outstanding.

As per 1/13/98 10Q:

As of January 5, 1998, there were 37,034,732 shares of the Registrant's Common Stock outstanding.

Obviously the numbers reflect the 2-for-1 split and they don't show an increase in the number of shares. Also there were 2,216,000 and 1,656,000 stock options at the end of Nov 96 and Nov 97 which were taken into consideration when the earnings were released. So the 8 miilion shares added by Ms. Peterson can not be from this numbers.

Also take a look at sec.gov

I don't claim to be an expert in reading these documents. So please correct me if I'm wrong somewhere.
