Baird, Don't worry too much about what OPEC does since OPEC has lost control of the world oil market due to expanded production in the North Sea and Latin America.

IMO much more important is strong economic growth in North and South America, and now East and West Europe are starting to come along. Even with demand down 800,000bbls /day in Asia from economic turmoil there, remember that the world still consumes 50,000,000+ bbls/day oil -and that production needs to be replaced.

So let me surface the point- It does not matter what OPEC does- world oil demand will drive the market, and things such as the Rio Global Climate Change Treaty will not impact oil usage in Third World growth areas.....

And places like Nigeria where an Army Junta Government which represents only the minority of the people (shuts out all of the southern tribes the Yoruba, Ibo, Ijwe, and Ogoni- where the oil facilities are), and greedily pockets all of the oil revenue for itself while the majority of the people starve- is an explosion just waiting to happen.....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
