Noted in the local newspaper this morning from wire reports.

NO THEME
Dennis
Is the public losing its appetite for theme restaurants? It goes on to mention in Chicago,Copperfield Magic Underground and a Gameworks, a 40,000 sq. ft electronic game emporium back by Steven Spielberg, have been scrapped. And Planet Hollywood international will not open All-Star Cafe on an exclusive stretch of Michigan Ave.
any comments.

Marshall
Orlando-based Planet Hollywood, partly owned by movie heavyweights Sylvester Stallone,Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger,is looking to younger stars to pull its restaurants out of a slump.

These things sound positive to me for RAIN.........John

Hi Dennis, Thanks for sending on the interesting stuff on MGM in Las Vegas. Sort of a mixed bag regarding RAIN, as it sounds like the traffic (wait time) is nothing like seen in other "tourist" areas. There are just too many "subsidized restaurants" in Las Vegas! The choices of inexpensive buffet type places and cheap prime rib joints is amazing. This is something I hope the RAIN management took into account. It is also the only RAIN so far to serve breakfast and this is a whole new venture for them to get into. The menu items sound good and tasty as described. Will have to get up there to try out some new fare when we retire in June and head up to our new home in Cottonwood, AZ. Vegas is only a 5 hour drive from there and we have several friends that live there.

Its been good to see some upward movement in the stock price, now equivalent to around 24/share pre-split. Would be much happier to see it back up to the 30s like last fall!! But the law suits and management worries still haunt the stock. I'll be looking forward to hearing more about the Animal Kingdom opening and to see the first figures on business at the newest Rainforest Cafe...

Sounds like you have been extra busy recently as your posts have been less frequent here on SI. But, I guess you have been also contributing to other threads, including the one at the Motley Fool site. I'm going over there now to see if there is any more news on MGM and the Disney parks.

We are getting very "short" as we have only about 5 more weeks until we ship out our household goods to Arizona. We will then "camp out" at our govt. quarters until the first week of June and will move into a furnished govt. apartment for 2 weeks before we fly to the States on June 14th. I actually retire on June 3rd. So as you can imagine we are kept very busy in getting ready for these events. I reach my 32nd year with the Canal on May 10th... just doesn't seem possible.

Keep up the good work! All our best to you and your family... Mel
