Ed,
My sense is that CPQ will act rationally and aggressively in this purchase... they stand to do well by supporting what DEC has installed out in the world, growing and integrating that solid base, aggressively employing their service capability for CPQ and Tandem as well as DEC, and building on the quality reputation DEC has. It's not like DEC has assets that can be cannabalized, the balance of the parts sold off, and totally restructured--- so it's more likely that all the importqant features will not only be retained but form a foundation for wider enterprise growth than CPQ could do by itself in less than 10 years.
