Hi Paul.

I am new SI subscriber. Been reader last few months so thought I'd give it a try. You seems to be one of the central contributors to this thread so I figure this is a good place to start. Hope you don't mind?

So here is my first comment.

I got interested in the stock market because it seem to be the only place which equalizes the masses. Likewise these threads I find to be especially invigorating. Trading has TA, fundamental experts, company specific experts, brokerage and investment gurus, accountants, lawyers, arbitraguers, insiders, crooks, thieves and ma & pa Americans. All of these have a specific view of the markets puzzle, but nowhere -until the internet- is there an entity which puts them all together and gives the investor a better feel for which way the wind is blowing.

Now when I hear something, maybe in the news, about a specific company I signon to my pc and see what someone's opinion I respect has to say about it. Or a bunch of someones for that matter.

In my short observation here I must say you seem to be a pretty knowledge person when it comes to the heavy technical engineering design and production of those hard to understand semi-conductors.

Tomorrows (stock) wind seems to be blowing up or should I say in an upwards direction. But we shall see where all the chips fall.

Thank you for the opportunity

Paul,>>>The company (Compaq), in an invitation to the event, said representatives of chip maker Intel Corp. [Nasdaq:INTC - news] and Microsoft Corp. [Nasdaq:MSFT - news] would participate in the announcement.<<<

I wonder who Intel will send to Munchen. I hope they don't signal appeasement - allowing Compaq carte blanche mindless market actions causing unnecessary turmoil.

Please send copy of The Art of War - by Shih Tzu to Craig Barrett - he may need a refresher.

Mary

What about Vinod Khurana, did you read anything from him lately? Looking back to september I think that his view on intc earnings and the downfall of it's stockprice was pretty accurate!

What about ADSL? This could be one of the major points of interest at CeBit. Wouldn't it make sense for intc to push this in order to push demand for high end PCs?
