Steve, there was definitely a cut cable- there is no dispute of this. What remains at question is why the built-in redundancy didn't keep the network from failing. It MAY have indeed been because of a faulty switch (which MAY have been DSC's), or it could have been bad engineering on the part of DSC's customer. Why doesn't the co. come out and say anything? Because you don't get into pissing matches with your customers; having them blame you publicly while still buying your switches is better than you blaming them and losing their business. DSC has enough proof of the reliability of their switches to withstand any finger pointing in their direction. Technology is not the issue w/ this company; analysts' distrust of management, right or wrong, is the cause of the stock's decline.
It is high time for the Board of Directors to take some action on behalf of ALL shareholders.
