Silicon Graphics announced a low-priced Unix
server for ISPs. SGI's Rack-Mount O2 server is
designed to handle a high-speed T3 connection and
comes with Netscape's FastTrack server software
and remote management options. Optional software
allows for e-commerce, mail hosting, and other
services. The O2 is priced at $4,500. Separately,
SGI said its midrange Origin200 servers will be
bundled with software from Netscape, Internet
Security Systems, and Freshwater Software, which
makes software for administrative purposes.

Jay, ORCL's resurgent success will -no doubt- translate into more SGI sales. Especially when SGI rolls-out their NT server offering.

Hmmm... an SGI/ORCL -NT bundle- might help SGI's VARs and make the DELL camp twitch?
