Gerard,

I have not used DATEK myself but have heard many in other chat rooms complain that it takes a very long time in the morning when the volume is high to exit, even with a market sell. I would suggest MB Trading.... The fees are higher at MB but if you avoid getting caught in just one trade without quick exit, riding one down, it will more than pay for itself...

If you plan to paper trade for a while before trading real money, then maybe one of the slower execution systems will work during the learning phase, but I personally would not put real money with a broker unless they have proven that they can execute at the price I want....

MB Trading has proven that to me, that is why I use them now. I have been to many many different brokers and have finally landed here. If the quality at MB Trading goes down hill, you will here it here first from me, as I always look for the best broker.

So far MB has managed their growth with control. This is the downfall of many new brokers, they do not control their growth along with the required upgrades and additional manpower.

Good Luck

Ken

I had OK experience with DATEK. However, I recently had one problem with it and believe that I can't depend on it any more...

Message 3619807

My big problem was that I wasn't notified at all on the cancellation.

Gerard,

On your 1 to 10 scale, for active intraday trading without a separate continuous data feed, Datek gets a zero from me. Of course that rating might also apply to lots of online brokers. I tried it. It does not work. If you are a good stock picker and want to enter and exit positions at predetermined prices, either by entering limit orders or by watching the quotes, and you don't depend on their servers to be available when the market is busy, then you may do OK.
