Look at THRX in the spring of 1996 and you will see it trade from 12 to 6 1/2. All the while the stock WAS bullish in that the move from 12 to 6 1/2 was still within an overall bullish trend.

BTIM still qualifies for long term bullishness but it has been a good ride for shorts who made the deal in the 20's.

BTW - THRX now trades in the 60's.
