I am considering investing in either WCLX, Railtex, or RailAmerica. Can someone give me the defining factors on these companies ? Why is WCLX a better prospect?

Sincerely,
Ben

2007 Silicon Investor Stock Picking Contest - Metals

Message #269 from TheSlowLane at 1/8/2007 2:05:11 PM

Loach - yes, ralph-emerson has generously offered a 10-ounce silver bar to the winner of this contest. I have contacted Jeff Skilling to see if he is available to serve as auditor, you know, just to make sure everyone's on the up and up.

r-e would be pleased to have others join him in contributing to the prize pool. Since I am contributing lots of time and effort already, I feel less inclined to also part with some of my precious, but I reserve the right to change my mind about that.

Any other takers...er, givers?

I am wondering if prizes for the winners of each quarter would be in order? But then again, if it is like last year where one stock took off and went 10-bagger and never looked back, then it hardly seems sporting. Would something like a 64 Kennedy Half be too puny for such?

Oh also, I'm ambivalent on the idea of the greatest gainer during the year. The existing contest seems to require DD and LT projection. A ST target would favor the best Bre-X type stock rewarding the best promoter. Seems like the LT time frame requires the promoter to maintain the "story" for a longer period, certainly a greater challenge, no? <g>
