UNITED KENO HILL MINES LIMITED AND NDU RESOURCES LTD.

TORONTO, March 13 /CNW/ - United Keno Hill Mines Limited and NDU Resources Ltd. announced today that at a meeting in Vancouver held for that purpose on March 11, 1998, the shareholders of NDU Resources Ltd. approved a merger by way of plan of arrangement with United Keno under the terms of which each NDU shareholder will receive 1.35 common shares of United Keno for each NDU share held. The final order of the British Columbia Supreme Court approving the Plan of Arrangement was issued and filed and the merger became effective on March 12, 1998.

Messrs. J.M. Stephen, A.R. Archer and D.O. Goss, previously directors or officers of NDU, have been appointed to the board of directors of United Keno.

United Keno is planning the resumption of commercial production from its central Yukon silver-lead-zinc properties later this year at a rate of 500 tons per day. The merger of the two companies will permit a rapid evaluation of NDU's neighbouring Marg and Blende deposits and the incorporation of those properties into the production schedule. A feasibility study will be commenced shortly to establish the economics of shipping ore from Marg to a new mill to be constructed at Elsa.
