Mohan, I've been a customer for 18 years, but will be moving to IBM RS6000 platforms soon. I don't use any of their current technology.

1.Any particular reason why DGN is trading approx 50% below their 52 week highs?

Reported weakness at two of their major OEM customers, SGI and HWP.

2.I see the PE is around 16 and change, does the growth rate justifies this P/E?

DG's PE fluctuates wildly. Their earnings predictability is very low.

3.Barring the 'rumors',what are the prospects for the company going forward on their own?

I don't think they have the critical mass to go it alone. I agree that they will be bought.

4.Is 'Clarion' a product of theirs?

Clariion. Disk arrays.

5.Who are their main competitors???IBM,DEC ?

Yes. And Sequent.

6.What are their main products? Mainframe, Servers, Workstations??

Clariion disk arrays and Aviion Servers. They also have a large installed base of Eclipse and MV minicomputers that represent service revenue, but it's diminishing rapidly (like mine). They also dabble in a few other things - some handhelds - THiinline, and remarket some other products, like Race's BeTHere! product. Inconsequential, IMO.
