Another cheapskate lurker surfaces thanks to SI's first-month-free get acquainted offer...

Add me to the list of those in awe of Bob's brilliant calls. I'd be a lot closer to critical mass if I'd consistently acted on his advice.

In addition to Bob's stock market calls, he's also been amazingly accurate at identifying long bond buying opportunities. Around Dec. '94, with the 30 year bond up around 8%, he pronounced bonds a "raging buy." I added Benham Target 2020 to my IRA on this advice and did very well. Unfortunately, I sold that position too soon. Then last April, with long treasuries over 7% he declared another "raging buy", which I failed to act on. But when rates backed-up last Sept. and Bob again said that long bonds looked attractive, I picked up Benham Target 2025, which is now up around 25% from where I bought it. Had I bought in April I'd be up over 40%.

So, my advice is listen not only for those "gift horse" opportunities, but also for the "raging buys." When you hear that one, load up on long zeros (but only in your tax-sheltered accounts, of course).
