<< Genesis|3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. >>

It is interesting that God created a lowly serpent to have more wisdom than man. At this time, the serpent knew about good and evil, and man didn't. The serpent had to explain it to Eve.

<< Genesis|3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; >>

So, if Eve had not eaten the forbidden apple, mankind would've stayed in the dark. Perhaps they would've had free will, but they wouldn't have had more wisdom, or knowledge, than a snake.

<< Genesis|3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. >>

While God was walking through the garden, Adam and Eve tried to hide. Of course, this can not work. What fools. Noone can hide from God!

<< Genesis|3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? >>

Oppppps. I stand corrected.

<< Genesis|3:11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? >>

Even the lowly serpent could understand being naked. Man was born with his eyes closed, lacking the knowledge of good and evil, and didn't even know that he was naked. If Adam and Eve had not eaten from the tree, you and I would be taking orders from the more intelligent serpents right now. Instead of typing these words on the Internet, we'd be spending all of our days searching for "Mc Rodents" for the superior serpents to eat!

<< Genesis|3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: >>

So, if man had not eaten from the tree, man would not have known good and evil. Man could not have had free will. Man would've been a robot, less knowledgeable than the serpent, who did seem to know more than Adam and Eve at the beginning of creation.

I wonder when serpents stopped speaking to humans?

This is all nonsense, of course. God created man and women in different degrees of decency and indecency, according to their DNA. It is an amazing creation.
