Oh man, for me, LHSPF is the biggest kick in the ass of 1998.

I looked at it, and looked at it, and looked at it, back when it was under 20.

I never pulled the trigger.

Anyway, interesting article. It made me think of this great keynote speech by whats-his-face, the chief-cook'n'bottlewasher over at ITXC. He went over there from T. Damn, I wish I had a transcript of that speech ... he talked about how it's silly to have different modes for signalling versus data transfer on a phone line, and how it's even sillier to have to use the hook to switch modes, causing a lot of inadvertent call dropping.

He predicted 90% of voice calls would be carried on IP networks within a few years.

ARGH I can't remember the other stuff, but I was definitely impressed by his remarks.

Oh yea, he predicted a possible revitalized Novell. <g>
