Rumble

Are you trying to scare us in to selling you some cheap and undervalued shares so you can cover your 8 1/4 short or are you just one of those brainwashed salespeople at one of the major computer stores, feeling like a bigshot after dining on some catered crap in the back storage room?

All Sony's come with the Zip standard!

>>Sony knows how to move in on a market<<

You give Sony a lot of credit for their tactical execution of a marketing plan. Credit where credit is due, I grant you.

Their strategic planning deserves equal credit. I am not convinced that Sony, in spite of their stated intentions, will execute an assault on zip. There may be many other places to spend an equal amount of money with better results than a slug fest with IOM.

Their evaluation of the economics of moving forward with their plans may have changed since they first announced. IOM's full court press most certainly has presented Sony with a different market penetration problem. At some point it's too late. I think soon enough it will be too late if not already.

Their web site gives no clues and no other evidence has surfaced yet as to the actual production, testing, or qualification of HiFD. They are either very secret or no longer interested.

I believe their interest is waning. Could be wrong tho.

Les

Pray for a buyout....

Pray for a clue.

Sony is not the only game in town for any product.
They have name recognition, but that alone does not sell
products. If I want a TV I know Sony will have a good one,
but is it $400 better than the competition ??
Buyers are more savvy than ever and will do their homework.

Who sells more PCs Mikey Dell or Sony ??

Don't you think you're being a bit overly pessimistic on Iomega? You seem so certain you know what Sony's plan is and so certain that it will work, yet HiFD won't be out for some time, pricing hasn't been announced, and Sony is currently including Zip drives in their computers. Your scenario is possible, but hardly as certain as you make it out to be.
