The discussion about whether or not Farrell did the right thing misses part of the point. The license was going to expire. There were only two choices: Allow it to expire, pay to extend it. Thus THQI has had this negative cost built into its future but not necessarily into the share price. I think that as investors we ignored it and the analysts did also (not too impressive a job by them I might add). I personally was not aware of it until the fourth quarter earnings were released. Perhaps I should have been aware of it all along but I wasn't. So whatever Farrell did, it was going to hurt.

Trippi:

PE cannot be considered a method of "Fair Evaluation" because
a Stock can have poor earnings and consequently a low price and therefore a low PE. PE can be an Indicator that may indicate that a
particular Stock is Undervalued and then one can look into other
Fundementals/Ratios to in fact determine if this is the case.Conversely a Stock may have a high PE because Investors are looking way out in the Future. Again this does not mean it is a Fair
Evaluation.

If you are having Success with your method of PE evaluation who am I
to argue? My point and I repeat it again was that "People had been
praising Farrell to the high Heavens on his Managerial Acumen and now
they want to say he has dropped the ball without knowing all the
Facts".
