DGN's SiteStak WebServer Technology Mike would appreciate your comments on any opportunity for DGN's SiteStak WebServer attached: a recently published article. M2 PRESSWIRE-16 March 1998-GX NETWORKS: GX Networks launches NT-based Web hosting (C)1994-98 M2 -- First company in UK to deploy new SiteStakTechnology bringing improved NI' stability GX Networks, part of Internet Technology Group plc (ITG), has announced a new web hosting service for industrial-grade sites which will be launched at Windows 98. The service is designed for customers wanting server hosting on the Windows NT platform but with high performance, high uptime and meaningful service-level agreements. GX is the first ISP in Europe to deploy Data General's new SiteStak webserver technology that makes NT-based sites faster and more stable than was previously possible. The product also employs a comprehensive suite of web-based administration tools aimed at reducing the support burden of offering such services and facilitating remote management. Customers are able to view and configure the logs of site visitors, see how much of their space quota they have used and set up password-protected subdirectories within their sites. They can do this using a browser at any time of day or night without the need to contact GX Networks. Niall Corduroy, Product Development Manager of GX Networks, said, "GX Networks can now break the perception that industrial-grade server hosting must be Unix-based. Philippe La Fornara, Thiin Line Business Unit Director for Europe, commented: "There are great opportunities for today's ISPs but there are also some challenges. Customer demand, web site sizes, costs, complexity - everything is growing at unprecedented rates. ISPs are tying to keep up, maybe even get ahead of the curve. But they cannot do that if they are constantly worried about managing their web servers. "That is the whole point about our SiteStak web hosting appliance. It lets the ISP focus on the business. And as more business comes in, it is just a matter of adding more units."
