I substantially agree with your statements. I'm in
watch and wait mode. Out, thank goodness, neither
long nor short.

However, I honestly expected $8-9 range by now.
Clearly my prowess as an analyst is living up
to my expectations (namely, duhh).

Your intuition is probably right. I expect that Seagate, who needs heads, will do what it takes to salve any AMC wounds if they suspect AMC has any heads to sell. Thats the real question. Does AMC have any heads to sell? I have not seen any yet.
