I don't think the big investors give a rat's patotie about QDEL's earnings (or lack of...), or even the introduction/success of the next rapid test.

What the whales are looking for is a consolidation and/or a merger and/or a collaboration and/or a buyout. There was just enough talk of that on the conference call to keep their mitts in the cookie jar. Otherwise, we would be at $2.

I also think that last August(?) when Frankel did his dog and pony show in NY, he must have made some promises that he couldn't deliver on. Institutional pressure on these small company CEO's must be pretty strong.

Just my uneducated two cents...
