My take on it is that normally given the complexity of the product and where I think they seem to be in their beta's I would guess they would call it Windows 99. But with the Justice Dept hovering and possibly talking about break-up of applications and OS, I would guess it will be more or less on schedule for early this summer, bugs be damned. Don't know if you missed the post here earlier from Derek Morgan (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=3534338) linking to a picture of the new release: jokewallpaper.com

Jeff, I havent found it yet, but Microsoft was advertising on their home page win98 beta for sale for 29 bucks. Less that a month ago. Maybe someone else will contribute... Old age setting in.......... edit: memory fading... found it: FAQ: microsoft.com Buy it: microsoft.com

NOW, for the 64,000 dollar question. WHEN's Win 98??? I just got in so not sure if anyone else answered to this, my best guess is June but could go longer. I would say by no later than mid-late summer. But then they are MSFT and have a history of delays. You can get a beta, not sure where though.
