I have received info from companies held in a brokerage account too, but I still think the company holds the shares in street name: I remember going to an annual meeting of a little company that ran out of North L.A.. The CEO was explaining that although the brokerage holds the stock and it is in the bro. name, he receives a list of names of people who own the shares and are eligible to vote at the meeting. I assume other companies would work the same way but I dont know because that was a bulletin board stock and maybe they are different.
