David, When the sector is worn out, the data is still intact but you lost the ability to rewrite on the same sector. While there is not enough data to verify, a CD-RW can sustain much much more than 50 to 100 uses. All I am saying is reliability is the advantage of optical device, the 1000 times limit on CD-RW does not alter this fact! I have no intention to compare the ability of optical and magnetic storage device and I always emphasize that they are designed for different purpose! Get it? aC
