IMHO Ameritrade's aggressive campaign to take market share away from its competitors may force ETrade to increase its marketing costs and perhaps reduce transaction fees. However, I believe that once the battle shifts from a price war to a service quality war, ETrade should come out ahead. I think the average customer would rather get good service and a wide array of products, rather than cheap but bare-bone service. We'll know more tomorrow... Walt - Long EGRP.
