Hi Adam and Everyone, Welcome to the AMAT Thread, Adam. I'm not of the Fundamental stuff nor of the Technical stuff but of the Sentiment stuff; so I can't help you much. I'm sure others could help you in that stuff, or you can go over the Posts in this thread and find what you are looking for... Let me take this occasion to tell the thread about the change of Investors' sentiment in AMAT:--- In the previous downturn, (Aug 1995 to Aug 1996) we saw AMAT slide from 60 to 22 abandoned by most Institutional Investors thru the urgings of Analysts. Something happened at the lower 20s:---while the Analysts were telling Investors to sell or avoid AMAT (one Analyst was even saying he would buy at 17 and sell at 50 after 2 years---in 1998!) the small or Individual investor was buying. When the stock went up to 32 did the Analysts/Intitutions stepped in to cause the stock to Gap Up in the opening to 38 in one particular day. From then on, the Analysts played catch up or follow the leader as the small or individual investor (helped by the popularity of trading in the Internet) lead the way to the 100s...This downturn around, the Analysts/Intitutions learned their lessons and are taking steps to insure that they are not going to be left behind or just be followers this time---they are taking positions at the 30s although they are almost sure that sometime in the future, the stock will slide further to the 20s!...The Analysts, while trimming Earnings estimates are meekly saying...buy...(for us who are waiting for a Bonus to buy lower, we may be in for a long, and maybe agonizing wait...)...
