When the 'below 6600 gifthorse" appeared and the market receded to the high 6300's for a brief period, I recall Brinker asserting that it would be a healthy development if the 10% correction turned out to be a 10%-15% correction. I believe this was before I ever recall him referring to an "intermediate correction" of 10%-20% usually leads to a major bear market. My moneytalk notes from past programs also contain the following Brinker definitions:

Consolidation = Less than 10% decline
Correction = 10% to 15% decline
Bear Market = 15% to 20+% decline
