I don't see anything there which would indicate Ben Franklin was an atheist. A Deist, yes. My dictionary would imply that a Deist does believe in a Supreme, Supernatural Being. There was clearly no quotes there to indicate Ben was an atheist, and I think his eloquent speech at the Constitutional Convention recommending daily prayer for the delegates at State expense by a hired Chaplain, and his other affirmations of Divine Providence, would clearly indicate that Ben Franklin was a man of God.
