To show support to this thread... I am coming in.

I stayed away from the Dell thread to stay out of cross fires. But it looks like this thread is more receptive to differing opinions. But I wish this thread is not named Bear Thread with the connotation that only bears are welcomed, which in fact is not the case.

I noticed that Dell's price has refused to go down beyond the range of 127-143 before split, 63-71 after, and I wonder whether that is an indication of strong buying support at the 63 level, and what significance does 63 have for Dell.

Although I am not much of a chartist, but intuition tells me Dell is on a downward trend short-term. And if the 63 support level cannot hold, are we heading to 50, 40, which were the levels that Dell was at in the last 6 months.

Lower volume on declining prices, especially off all-time highs, signals impending price increase.......Holders not willing to sell, buyers must pay more, price increases.....3-13-98 one of lowest volume days in last 3 months.

Denise,

I'm trying to read an respond to messages. Having BIG computer
problems last several days. I think 16 MB of RAM isn't enough
these days for all the multimedia stuff. Continuously getting
memory fualts. I will respond as opportunity presents itself.

Dave

>>> Other indicators: Stochastics, On Balance Volume, Gann's Angle, Relative Strength, 10-day Momentum are all supporting the direction of the price weakening.

Thanks for information

>>> However, should it subsequently see a softening in sales, I think it will have to pre-announce in April before the release of 1st quarter in May

That's possible. On the other hand DELL may have enough places on their balance sheet to provide earnings to at least meet consensus
but not whisper number numbers. They have had a number of very good
quarters to sock away some cash which makes the loan even more confusing. Also, it seems likely that DELL will be buying back many
fewer shares this year so in effect the tax-free dividend to
shareholders is reduced.
