Humbly report, DD, having been on the set a few times, and having seen the 60, 30, 15 seconds cue cards shoved in the face of the commentators, over and over again, I am not at all certain this is some kind of a wicked plot.

I am much more likely to believe that they did indeed run out of time - due to crappy program planning - as usual!
