5,17, etc (numbers): Hi Jackson. Your model does not provide for growth through acquisitions (although you do make reference to BAY's need for an expansion of share issue for acquisitions). BAY has said that it is eyeing about 12 acquisitions this year. Most of its recent acquisitions have contributed quickly to revenues.

It was the Rapid City acquisition that put a light under the share price when it had been in the doldrums - acquisitions excite analysts. I think we are about due for another.

In my prediction of $45-49 in the next 4-6 months I did not state whether or not that would be a fair valuation by any specific yardstick. I did not say that the share price would remain at between $45-$49. I think we have already seen that BAY can go up and come down - people should learn to sell on the highs as well as buying on the dips. I think we will have a very dynamic share in June or after. Acquisitions - one way or the other - will be in the air, growth rates will be firming, the p/e, for example, will be expanding, and the beginning of the next tech sector paradigm will be in its early stages - because I think the Intels, Compaqs and Microsofts, will be gearing up for another good 18 months starting around the Fall, 1998.
