Jeffry, I prefer DPMI to CYMI at these levels (I own both). The leverage is in DPMI (by quite a bit)....and DPMI is rapidly building "critical mass" as I like to put it..
Do you really think that IBM is any kind of threat to either CYMI or DPMI any time in the next 8 - 10 years or so? Everything I have read about the "direct write" technologies is that they are MUCH more expensive than the optical technologies...which is why they aren't used now, to my understanding, and why the UT work was so significant... the use of DUV (optical) methodologies is extended well into the future.
Further, even when direct write comes in, my understanding is that it would be used only for a pass at the very smallest feature levels, while the rest of the chip work would be done "conventionally" with optical techniques (requiring photomasks).. Until I see something to throw me off track, it is more DPMI for me...and at these levels. I see little chance of any serious "bargains" from here.. Do you?
