Truman. Employing a bit of "Geek Speak", if I may, I would add that we are in the "information age" and, as such, pay $185 per year in order to have some information before the general public has access to it through the airwaves of ABC Radio. Lately, we can add the internet to another public access source of the information. Basically, by divulging early that which we pay for, we are making it valueless, or at least reducing its value. Hardly what we faithful listeners want to do.

It is my humble opinion that I am totally free to pay Mr Brinker for his newsletter, or even go read it in Dipy's library, and then post a full summary of the newsletter in whatever medium I wish. Many call this a "book review" when done for a novel. Of course, I can not quote verbatim major sections from the book (or Bob's newsletter) without express permission from the author.

I should add that I am allowed by law to take a gun in a boat 201 miles offshore of the USA, load it and shoot myself in the foot.

Neither of these ideas really appeals to me.

Looking forward to your wonderful summary as I will be at a 60th wedding anniversary party tomorrow and will miss the broadcast.

regards
Kirk out

Just as you could publish a summary of the design of
some gadget written about in Popular Science, you
could publish a summary Brinker's newsletter here.

Copyright covers the expression of the idea, not
the idea itself. Brinker's radio broadcasts are
copyrighted, but we freely discuss their idea
and content here everyday.

I do agree with your point, however, that there
is a legitimate tendency to hold the contents of
his newsletter in secret, given its relatively
high cost and low circulation.

Truman,

Upon reviewing the last wk or so of posts I am compelled to write to you regarding the direction of the thread. I share what I perceive as your disbelief as to what is happening. As a previously outspoken critic of some of the caustic and abrasive posts on this thread I must admit it has become beyond ugly.

A line has been crossed. What was once a diversity of opinion as perceived from the facts of various arguments has become ad hominem bovine scatter. I saw more maturity when I taught programming to grade school children.

Bob has been assaulted verbally as well as other threaders. It is time for a change and a return to the focus of the thread.

I am in disbelief. How about a comparison to the Starship Commander's meaning of a shark attack. Does anyone see the shark attack taking place? Let me tell you that the one taking place on this thread would be the envy of the brokerage industry (in terms of the disinformation and high-pressure tactics). Who else sees this?

The thread is currently withstanding an unfair assault. I suggest those who give a damn about this unique place, where we exchange ideas, share information, discuss Bob and Moneytalk, etc., pull up the drawbridge and throw the transgressors and their ladders of untruths down into the moat. Perhaps some boiling oil is in order too. IMHO, this can be accomplished simply by focusing back to the original goal of the thread. It appears from some of the recent posts that we may be back on track.

Back to basics should be the goal. Good grief, let's get back to Bob and Moneytalk. There is so much to learn.
