Not sure which part you want. As I understand it, the GRF was shipped to customers before it had been fully tested. There were problems, the systems had to be fixed, the company lost credibility, and the product has now been improved and relaunched. That would not have happened in a carrier environment because of the rigorous testing required before a product is accepted. In the non-carrier class networking environment it was standard practice to launch a product as quickly as possible and fix glitches on site.

As for the SS7, Newbridge was created as a networking company based on carrier standards. TM comes from a teleco background having spent his early career at BT.
