Irresistible Force or Immovable Object You should be concerned if your views on SI allow others to subject that viewpoint to ridicule. Would it be possible to get kicked off of SI for causing others distress by maligning there character, of course. Is it possible for people to disagree, of course. When does a rational viewpoint become absurd. When does it become childish. Posters like Jane Hafker deserve some credit for causing dissimilar thinkers to polarize. The fact that her ideas may be subject to ridicule does not occur to Jane, the fact that her ideas cause pain to others, does not occur to Jane, she believes that others can see reason or validity in her viewpoint, I wonder if Dwight's open and honest invitation to homosexuals caused Jane some pain. Things could be worse, Jane could, like Dwight, feel her viewpoint was inherently correct and that people who scoffed at that idea were attempting to ridicule her. If she actually tried to get Jill to kick people off who offended her then SI would be empty. Jane knows she is offensive and takes great pride in doing the Lords work. Honest disagreement, similar to the disagreement I had with Dwight Karlsen can often end in a satisfactory fashion. Many people reading this thread are Christian by background and when Christians are confronted with a choice between the Spirit and the Letter, they will choose the Spirit. Does anyone doubt Dwight's honest open invitation. Especially touching is the fact that Dwight even offered to sit with anyone who would take him up on his offer, submitting in bondage, gracefully, to the Love represented by his Lord. A far greater danger are those who imagine some slight to their rational thought patterns even when they are being illogical, irrational, hidebound pedagogues. Such posters often think that by blending artlessly with the background their agenda may be furthered. It is often necessary to point out with facts, their errors. These types of posters are usually far more visible than they think, rational argument tends to expose logical flaws. Many of you are aware of the apple cart I am pushing here.
