I have been watching the trading paterns of VTSS for the past week. I feel you have to have a strong stomach to trade this stock. Even with the downgrade to sell from the Cabot market letter, VTSS shot up strongly this week. However, most of the trading was by instinet and merrill lynch on high bid and offer. I sense that money is flowing out of the stock and given how other chip companies have had bad quarters VTSS is due for a setback especially since a large portion of there business is derived from the telecommunications industry. Last quarter there earnings beat estimates by a penny I sense a preannounced earnings release is due shortly. There investor and outside public relations departments are very slow in returning questions to there actual release date slated sometime in Mid April. Given the relatively thin float one bad quarters could send this stock to the $30s range. Will have to wait for the next 3-4 weeks.

Gda,

Look carefully. Its back to $49. It traded down to support and is now battling resistance. If it closes over $50, watch out!!!
BTW, I dont follow stocks on a tick-by-tick basis either. I try to 'invest' for a 3 to 6 month horizon.
