To Stich: It seems unfair to engage in debate, or even try, with someone who's political system doesn't have a constitution with a first amendment. Is it possible that the answers [admissions] you are seeking would subject someone from China to imprisonment and even worse. Without a constitutional provision prohibiting bills of attainder, his family would also be at risk. If you are correct about the current state of the Chinese political system, it's likely the answers you seek, would. Perhaps a free economy will lead to free political debate down the road. I think the answer you got was perfectly reasonable UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. A little puffing about the current freedom in China may be the price someone in China must pay to continue to engage in this most interesting economic debate on China's economy. Although new to this dialogue, it seemed to me necessary to make these points. Wallace Edward Brand

AGAIN>>>***OFF TOPIC***ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!
Know what the airplane posture is? Its what the red guard made their victims do for hours on end and caused Mao to joke to an associate that he wondered if it was "good exercise". This vignette is written about in the associate's memoirs. He was a high CCP member.

Cute... but I'd prefer that to the "dead student posture" of those
gunned down by the National guard at Kent State.

Remember how our initial disagreement started? Its when you stated flatly in the Asian Forum...

Fine, then would you please take your political debates to the Asian forum? This forum is for discussing Hong Kong Stock investments.
Debating 101 is two forums down the hall.

You have your opinions, I have mine. Everyone here has theres. IF
they are related to HK listed companies, they are welcome.

Stitch, what's the ethnic atmosphere (between the Chinese-decent and others) in Kuala Lumpur ? I hope it is not as bad as it's reported in the western press.
