I thought that perhaps global warming, pollution, the extinction of more and more lifeforms, starvation, and the rampant proliferation of nuclear and biological weapons would hasten judgement day.

I dunno bout judgement day, no one does, even though many claim to find a day and a time that the world will end through so called prophecies in the scripture. IMO, and as far as I can tell from what the bible says there are no such prophecies so it's futile to look for them.
The judgement I was referring to was on individual nations.
Frankly, no one really knows just when that takes place either, how could they. So its unproductive to speculate on a time table we aren't capable of understanding. Sodom is the only record offered as to how bad a society can get in that regard - and I don't think we are there yet, IMO and that isn't worth much. The pollution of the human spirit is the concern as far as I can tell, though.

I got to hand it to Penni, she is not to be underestimated, I knew that she was a master at latin but who'd have thunk it, she had an interlinier (did I spell that wrong again) greek to English. I guess you got to stay up pretty late in the evening to get one up on her.
I thought her point was interesting too, Christianity does answer the problem that I Cor. 6:9 poses, at the same time it warns of the dangers. Anybody that thinks they are better than a Gay person because they are not gay but only a fornicator, thief, or just greed ridden is out to lunch and missed the point entirely.
Another quote, and the reference escapes me now, finds the writer talking to memebers of the first century church, who having been those kind of people mentioned in I Cor 6:9; tells them to knock off the behavior now that they are christians.
