For newer readers on the thread (and all those wanting a quick review), I offer the following links. You'll find a good overview of Symetrix technology, partnerships, the missed opportunity of Ramtron/Symetrix joint ownership, and all sorts of claims of Y-1 superiority. The bottom line--We have two ferroelectric cartels. The Ramtron (PZT) and Symetrix (Y-1) camps have promised products for years. As far as I know, PZT is the only product in the marketplace, albeit low density. Both sides seem to be struggling with common manufacturability issues.
