Thanks for the post. Some of us have been on this since last night when the news was released. To me, it's not surprising given that ESVS is moving into the same headquarters these folks resigned from. It also, I think, gives us a hint as to Wired came on like it did.

I've been doing some research on Steve Lair, the new CEO of both ESVS and Zulu. Here is one account.

SAN JOSE, Calif., August 26, 1997 - As part of its global market
positioning and expansion strategy, Acer America Corporation today
announced that effective immediately, Senior Vice President Steve Lair, will
be elevated to an independent consulting role, directly counseling and
advising Stan Shih, Chairman of Acer Incorporated, on how Acer America
and other worldwide business units of the Acer Group, can leverage
resources, global economies of scale and industry knowledge to grow brand
name awareness and greater market penetration for Acer's mobile, desktop
and server products.

Also effective immediately, Acer America appointed Vice President of
Business Development, Tom Miller, to head its Commercial Systems
Division. The moves reflect Acer's new global marketing focus and
commitment to cross-pollinate and leverage top industry talents from around
the world.

"Because the U.S. market leads the world in technology adoption and usage,
Acer consciously sought a source of knowledge and experience that would
augment our worldwide strategy to increase market share and strengthen our
brand position," said Stan Shih, chairman of Acer Inc. "By promoting Tom
Miller and elevating Steve Lair to fill these new roles, all the worldwide
business units of Acer gain insight and access to two influential and
experienced thought leaders."

Tom Miller will be moving from his role as Vice President of Business
Development at Acer America to Vice President and General Manager of
the Commercial Systems Division. Tom Miller joined Acer America in April
of this year as part of the acquisition of Texas Instrumentsr Mobile
Computing Business.

Mr. Miller brings over 23 years of experience from Texas Instruments.
Before joining Acer, Miller was the VP of Operations for Texas Instruments
Mobile Computing Business. Prior to that position, Miller held a variety of
management responsibilities including channel development, sales
management and product line management.

Now, Miller will focus internal resources to further expand Acer's
commercial market presence by implementing several programs under
development, including: the Acer Global Corporate Account Program and
the Acer Build-to-Order (BTO) program. These programs are designed to
provide global support for corporations that have mobile professionals
around the world, and to implement BTO strategies, tactics and logistics.
