Neil -- sorry for the noise level in this thread -- believe me, there are many of us interested in SGI's NT machine. I am eager to hear any details you can offer us. Can you tell us what has been leaked about the NT machine so far? Thanks in advance! --JD

My questions are:
1. Are there major differences, compared say to Intergraph, in how SGI will implement NT, and will the NT box be able to do either Irix or Linux? We ported Linux in February 1997 to an Intergraph quad PPro.
2. Given that the SGI NT graphics are superb (to be expected), will SGI get top computational (Floating Point) performance from the Intel processor? By what metrics is this to be determined?

Thanks,

Neil: Is your friend the esteemed Ivan Sutherland? Also, please ask your friend how SGI's prototype NT virtual reality programming product compare to the currently available MAYA product. Thank you.
