I'm a PSI holder long so this is not meant for any reason other then discussion.

There seems to be a consensus that IP Telephony could favour ISP's in particular PSI.

Based on studies it has been found voice over IP can be as much as 2 times more effecient then circuit switched calls. Nothing to sneeze at.

However, Wave Division Multiplexing, using the existing circuit switched infrastructure can provide economies 10 to 100 times capacity.

So whats all the hype about packet switching voice when it seems like the real revolution is in WDM?
