"The DEC merger will defocus CPQ exec mgmt and lead to environement that puts CPQ in competition with with their largest customers (ie. the channel ie. vanstar/entex/mircoage"

focus issue should be self evident and will take their eyes off much more important balls (ODM, workstations, servers, global growth

As far as competing against your customers. I belive when all is said and done what CPQ really bought was DEC service org. Servicving PCs is where CPQs customers make alot of their money. How is this going to make them feel that their supplier/partner is now competing against them? might some of them try to switch biz to a more resellers friendly OEM like IBM. might this effect sales and earnings????
