Internet Solutions over ATM Broadband Networks with Carrier Scale InternetworkingT (Hall 14, <Picture: 10_26.GIF (908 Byte)>)

Carrier Scale Internetworking (CSI) is a future-oriented IP internetworking architecture based on ATM networking technology. Utilizing centralized management and routing, wide-area IP networks can be operated economically and with the highest quality of service, unachievable by today's IP networks. With CSI, service providers can deliver the services that sophisticated business applications need, and thus enhance their competitive advantage.

Together with our alliance partner Newbridge we will demonstrate some attractive IP internetworking applications over a functioning CSI network.

Internet Solutions for Access Networks (Hall 14)

For every operator, the Multilink product family provides the optimum solution for the access network with simultaneous use of different transport media such as copper, coax, glass fiber and radio. Due to the new multimedia applications, there is a requirement for a greater bandwidth.

Broadband access with ADSL
Due to new applications, there is a requirement for a greater bandwidth, more than ISDN provides today. A fast Internet solution will be shown, which enables a bandwidth of up to 8 Mbit/s, using ATM via ADSL, based on XpressLink D for existing telephone networks. Broadband access with CDMAlink
CDMAlink is an RLL system based on B-CDMA for diverse applications in areas with different topologies and subscriber densities. It supports a wide range of frequency bands with higher bandwidths. Having a range of up to 30 Km, it is the ideal solution for diverse application possibilities.

Innovative Solutions for Transport Networks (Hall 14)

The TransXpress system family provides the plat-form for an efficient transmission network with trend-setting, leading technology.
The products and network concepts are designed to provide the greatest flexibility and economic viability possible. Some of these innovative product developments will be introduced:

ALine provides flexible availability of high bit rate services for voice and data applications. The innovative multi-service solution is based on ATM and SDH/SONET technology. Operation of the network is very economic, as only one transport system is required for all services. The large-scale integrated STM-1 multiplexer chip SMA1K is the heart of the next generation high-composite SDH systems. These are used not only for applications in the core transport networks but also in local subscriber edge networks.

The Multi-Wavelength-System WL8 from the TransWave product family for optical networks provides, at low cost, a high bit rate expansion of the transport capacity of up to 20 Gbit/s. The system can be efficiently implemented in both core and metropolitan networks>>>.
