Many companies who announce buybacks dont necessarily complete it. If they are authorized to buy xxx number of shares, they may only actually buy back x number of shares. In many ways it meant to be soothing for investors psyche that the company is willing to "support" its own stock and/or reduce the float.

I think the buyback announcement helped do the trick with FAMH, it was one of a series of announcements... that was seen positively. And thats the whole idea.

Overall, I think too much emphasis is made of the buyback.. after all they just issued 20MM shares! And now they will buyback 4MM of that (theoretically). So its still a major dilution.

The reverse merger is 100x more important because it reduces the overall shares outstanding from 40MM to perhaps 12MM or so. Thats a much more important issue.
