I love those SEC documents. They seem so honest and well-written.
The NVIDIA document talks about how their chip shortage was
caused by yield problems in December at SGS-Thomson. They even
mention that SGS-Thomson itself may come up with a RIVA-technology-based product in competition with NVIDIA.
They will have to do well though to maintain their mid-high-end
market share against competitors such as Intel, ATI and (perhaps)
SIII. They seem to have more or less saturated their market segment,
and it will be tough to expand.
