Frank, are you aware that Japan used to be 20% of their revenues prior to 2nd half of 1997, it dropped to 5%, mere 5% of the revenue. How low can it go. It can only go higher. Lets say it drops to 2.5 % of revenue. You are looking at drop of 3-5 million revenue. when your down in the low single digits already, how low can it go. If they have installed base of customers, they have to purchase upgrades.
I am not worried about Asia. It can only get better for them. My main concern is can they execute in their future plans of building next generation digital communication networks and be leaders and fend off the competition effectively.

<<However, I am worried about any warnings of continued weakness in Asia, particularly Japan, where ASND has alot of exposure. This little disclaimer at a post-earnings conference is what could damper interest for this stock.>>

I think we have to kee p the the distinction between consumer product weakness in Asia and "non-consumer" products.

Except for pipeline, ASND's products are non consumer oriented. It would seem reasonable to expect to see more weakness in consumer product oriented companies than in companies like ASND. I think we should be careful not to paint everyone equally with the "Asia" brush.
