It's proprietary (but interoperates with anything that speaks IP or various other protocols, SNA for instance) but that's necessary to do what it does. I won't belabor what it does, but it runs all of the world's major stock exchanges as well as most ATM networks. You couldn't have got out of your CPQ stock without that there "himeleya tnadem stuff".
