To all --

First, this is a great forum. Thanks to everyone. Anyone have an opinion on shorting GM? I was looking at parabolic charts of stocks that might be having fundamental problems and it came up. It has moved straight up through Feb and March. Seems like Asia could be a big problem for them. Also, LA Times article recently suggested growing inventory problems - enough so one analyst said the company could never make their number this quarter. Further, it seems way late in the cycle to be buying - earnings will be flat or down next two years. They do have a ton of money to buy back stock. With all the optimism about everything blue chip, this seems like an easy one over the next three months. It is not a very sexy short, but all the factors seem to make it ripe for a fall.

Any opinions. TIA.

Peter

OFF TOPIC: "Red Storm Rising" was one of Tom Clancy's best. But no one in the foreign affairs community ever expected to see it really happen. Ditto China invading Taiwan. I also like Dale Brown's stuff from time to time. Check out Larry Bond if you like this genre.
